Set in 1945, pre-independent India, Agent Devil, an IPI officer, goes undercover as a police officer to probe Vijaya's death. Vijaya's father is wrongly accused due to her love for Bhuma, a domestic worker. Devil suspects a larger conspiracy, believing the landlord to be innocent.
